Fly Southwest !

Here we go... missed all the flights out yesterday... Spring break I guess , looks like we are about to get on a flight to Salt Lake City in a few minutes...

Ansel say hellos to everyone that's reading... God bless and God speed. More later.

Just want to say thank you to my friend Jill for making this possible, we love you.
To everyone else "FLY SOUTHWEST" !!!

We are headed to Portland on Sunday. We are flying standby as a dear friend contributed airline passes to help with this trip. The only hitch is the standby part, so if we don't get on a flight tomorrow, we'll be spending the night with Charlene and Tony Pizutti in Canby. The flights are fairly full tomorrow, but they are wide open on Monday. So for sure on Monday we'll be flying over the rockies. Good news is we can take Ansel's electric scooter. It's considered a medical assist device, and so there isn't an additional charge nor is it considered baggage.

So here's one of our targets, to find where this house is or used to be. It is the home of Ansel's maternal grandparents Sylvester and Mary Vorhis, at Troy, Iowa. Pictured from left to right, Ansel's mother Eva, her brother Vivian, and parents Mary and Sylvester. Sylvester is listed on US Census forms as being a farmer, and owning farm property. Ansel remembers being told that he was born in this house.

Ansel and Friends Slide Show!

June 3, 2005 Our Wedding Tumalo Park

I am Cyndy Coleman Marshall. I am the blogger...

Formerly a rancher from Burns, Oregon. In 2005, I married long time friend Ansel Marshall. We had met back in the 80's through horse connections while ranching in Harney County. Both he and Martina were very good friends of mine. When my oldest son was on life support in the CCU at St. Charles for 13 days, they were there every day with me.

Ansel's beloved wife of 64 years, Martina passed away from breast cancer in May 2004. Then a year later on April 4, 2005, Terry, Ansel's son was killed in an tragic car accident. Consequently Ansel asked me to marry him, saying it just made sense, "he was alone and I was alone, we both loved horses, and we had known each other for 20 years..."

Ansel said, one thing we both had learned with "our recent losses", was that we don't know how long we have in this life, and we don't know what tomorrow will hold... he said he didn't want to wait or be alone another day.
What I have learned, is that when God is trying to bless you, don't question the packaging :0)

We were married June 3, 2005 at very intimate gathering at Tumalo Park on the Deschutes River. We live in Bend, Oregon and have some acreage just outside of the city limits. Ansel still has a few horses that he still feeds every day. Aside from God's plan :0) I feel that it's the daily care of the horses that has him still chuggin along in these later years in his life.

Thus the name of the blog... energizer bunny in 4 low. He doesn't go very far very fast, but he keeps on going...
